The almsgiving is one of Luang Prabang's major tourist draws. And even though I was a bit apprehensive about the spectacle, on my last day, I did give in to my curiosity, got up before sunrise and walked over to the main street. It wasn't as crowded as I had feared but most tourists had brought their cameras with the big lenses and they had no qualms about shoving them into the monks' faces. At about six, droves of orange-clad monks of all ages appeared, walked down the street in file and collected rice and sweets from the tourists and devotees lined up along the sidewalks... #luangprabang #sunrise_sunsets_aroundworld #travelblogger

I took this picture in the same park as the last picture. Lovely, right? The green part in front of that beautiful wooden structure is a small vineyard - yes, apparently we have some in Czech Republic! Apart from that, how is your week going? Mine is sooo busy. Today I bought my flight ticket to go back to Belgium (I mean... only for the holidays of course!). I'm flying on Monday and I have quite a lot of things to do before leaving. 😵

Assam state is home to all sorts of beautiful things, and its people are at the top of the list. These are all portraits of people we met in Jamuguri, a village on the banks of the Brahmaputra River. Swipe through to see them all 👆 Contrary to the notion of villages all being tiny homogenous spaces, this village had thousands of beautiful people from all over the place. Mishing tribe women sifted through rice down the road from Assamese women sorting out their chicken coops, as people from Bihar state worked shops on the next road over. Despite their different backgrounds and languages, they coexist peacefully, all coming together to help run the village that is their home. We know India is a crazily diverse melting pot of people, but we didn't realize the diversity stretched all the way to the villages! This country truly never ceases to amaze.
