From Japan, I did a couple of trips to other Asian countries over the years, including Vietnam and Taiwan. And I created just a few posts about my experiences there. Once I visit again, I will have more to share with you for sure.
From December 2018 to spring 2019 I will explore other parts of Asia extensively, including Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia. I will update you about my experiences via blog posts over time. But if you want to know what I am up to in real time, you can subscribe to my email newsletter.
It is kind of surprising that I don’t have more content on Europe, being German and everything. But I just find all the other destinations that I visit so much more fascinating that I don’t really feel like writing much about destinations in Europe.
So far I have covered just a couple of places and experiences in the UK (because it is by far my favorite European country) and I am planning on always creating more content. If only I had the time to work on everything I want to.
As you have probably read before. I am always updating my blog, and if you want to be kept in the loop. Sign up to my mailing list!

When I arrived in Oxford on a sunny afternoon at the beginning of August my Servas host, Deirdre sat down with me and explained Oxford to me using a little paper tourist map of all the Oxford colleges. She explained to me that Oxford is basically a crossroads from which the city grew and that […]
Are you planning a trip to Scotland and don’t know where to start? Don’t worry, when it was time to plan my one week Scotland road trip I was also a little bit lost. No wonder, there is so much to see and do in Scotland and one week will never be enough time to […]
After exploring London (and there were a lot of things to do there) I finally got to see more of England. And my first stop was Bath, just a couple of hours drive from the bustling capital lies this beautiful and historic town. Of all destinations in England, I think I liked Bath most (closely […]
Over the last week, I have been traveling through the most scenic regions in England, including Bath, Oxford, and the Cotswolds. Of course, I have taken lots of beautiful pictures, especially because the weather was fantastic for the whole time I was there. And the best of these pictures are going to find their way […]
Our first stop on our trip around the world was Hong Kong. Why? Because it was the cheapest destination from Nagoya, and because we both had never been there. In 5 days we explored quite a bit of this fascinating country/city, and in this post, I would like to share with you the things to […]
Our first stop on our trip around the world was Hong Kong. I had never been there even though it is only a 4-hour flight away from Japan and it can be reached quite cheaply using LCCs like Hong Kong Express. And the first thing I wanted to do in Hong Kong was a walking […]
My first and only day trip to Nikko was 3 years ago. It was my first day trip with Taka and the first time I got out of Tokyo after arriving there 2 months earlier to work at a Japanese IT consulting company. The trip has been a fond memory ever since, and I feel […]
The first clear drink I came across in Japan was Yogurina a clear yogurt drink. I thought it was strange to have a bottle that looks like water but tastes like yogurt, but it got me curious (which is probably the whole point of making a yogurt drink look like water). So I bought a […]
In May of 2018, I made my fourth trip to the Fuji Five Lakes. This area located in Yamanashi Prefecture lies 2 hours east of Tokyo and is a perfect day trip destination. If you want to read more about Japan travel head over to the Japan Travel Blog. If you were looking for day […]
Visiting an Onsen (a Japanese Hot Spring) should be on every visitor’s Japan bucket list. The Japanese hot springs are famous for its healing powers and long tradition similar to the Roman baths. There are areas in Japan that are famous for its Onsen waters which are pumped up from sometimes hundreds of meters below […]
